Nvidia and South Korean tech giant NAVER are partnering to build out "sovereign AI" infrastructure in Korea — domestically controlled computing power for AI.
From megawatts to gigawatts
The plan starts at 55 megawatts of capacity, with ambitions to scale to gigawatt levels using Nvidia's platform. Sovereign AI lets nations train and run models on infrastructure they control, reducing reliance on foreign providers.
A global trend
Governments and companies worldwide are investing in domestic AI capacity for economic and security reasons. The NAVER deal is part of Nvidia's broader push to supply the compute behind national AI strategies.
